Zipping Through the Cloud Forest
From sunrise until well after sunset, our students were on the move exploring as much of Monteverde as possible. While the three buses had slightly different orders of events, we all managed to squeeze in the following activities: Zip lining - Donning helmets and harnesses, our brave students flew through the trees hundreds of feet in the air. If my watch is to be believed, we reached speeds of 40 miles per hour and enjoyed one ride almost a mile long. It was all smiles as we backed up the bus for our next activity. Cloud forest hike - Our students really took on the role of observers and learners as they hiked through a pristine parcel of cloud forest. What a treat to be in this special place, learning about the incredible biodiversity supported by this unique topography and climate.
